How to prepare

How to prepare

Myrenthia is not like any other event. It is an immersive experience where, for one unforgettable weekend, you do not attend as your waking self. You arrive as the character you have always wanted to be, and you live that story beneath lantern light, desert wind, and velvet shadow.

To prepare for Myrenthia, do not simply pack a bag. Prepare like you are crossing into another world.

1. Contact Myrenthia to finalize your sleeping and accommodation arrangements

Before anything else, make sure your lodging is confirmed. Decide whether you are tenting, in a room, in the BnB, or in an RV arrangement. If you have preferences, request them early. If you have special needs, ask now, not later. Myrenthia runs like a festival, but it is still a carefully orchestrated world, and your comfort matters. Once accommodations are set, everything else falls into place.

Actions to take:

  • Confirm your sleeping location and who you are bunking with
  • Confirm arrival window and check in process
  • Ask any questions about what to bring for your sleeping setup

2. Select your character and craft your backstory

This is the most important step. Myrenthia becomes magical when you commit to it. Choose a character archetype that excites you, something sensual, bold, powerful, mysterious, dangerous, adored, or untamed. Give yourself a name. Give yourself a role. Decide where you came from and why you have arrived at Myrenthia.

You are not writing a novel. You are creating a living vibe you can embody all weekend.

What to decide:

  • Your character name
  • Your title or role (Noble, Thief, Djinn Touched, Priestess, Guard, Rebel, etc.)
  • What you want in Myrenthia (pleasure, mischief, devotion, transformation, indulgence, connection)
  • Your signature style (silk, leather, jewels, masks, blades, incense, gold paint, etc.)

Actions to take:

  • Build your costume(s) from what you already own, plus a few key “power pieces”
  • Pick one defining prop (mask, coin pouch, dagger, staff, veil, collar, anklet)
  • Practice your character posture and “presence” so you can slip into it easily

3. Work with your partner(s) and plan your introductions

Friday dinner is not small talk. It is the moment the festival becomes real. You will introduce yourselves as characters, not as civilians. That means you should coordinate with your partner(s) ahead of time and decide how you will present yourselves as a unit.

You are building a first impression. Make it memorable.

What to decide together:

  • Who speaks first
  • How your characters relate (lovers, rivals, devoted guards, owner and treasure, bonded wanderers, secret conspirators, etc.)
  • What your intentions are for the weekend

Actions to take:

  • Write a short intro (two to four sentences each)
  • Decide what you will reveal to the group, and what you will keep mysterious
  • Choose a “signature line” (something you say to mark yourselves)

4. Write the words you will speak during the Offerings of Myrenthia

Offerings of Myrenthia is one of the most powerful rituals of the weekend. You are not casually complimenting your partner. You are writing an invocation. You are speaking devotion, desire, appreciation, and affirmation out loud, and letting the entire group become the Winds that carry it.

This is where people cry, melt, tremble, laugh, and feel seen on a level they did not expect.

What to include in your written script:

  • Who they are to you (in this world and in your story)
  • What you admire most about them
  • What you want them to remember about themselves
  • What you want the Winds to amplify within them
  • A few very specific affirmations you want the circle to repeat

Actions to take:

  • Write it in advance and bring it printed or written clearly
  • Keep it around one to two minutes long
  • Highlight key phrases the crowd will repeat so it becomes a chant

5. Decide if you will offer yourself as Erotic Interactive Human Art

This experience only works when those chosen commit fully to becoming the canvas. It is sensual and artistic, and it requires your willingness to be still, to be admired, and to be touched like sculpture.

If you choose to volunteer, do it proudly. This is not a side role. This is sacred indulgence.

What to consider:

  • Are you comfortable holding a pose for an extended time
  • What kind of statue you want to become (regal, submissive, proud, seductive, divine, forbidden)

6. Prepare your offering for Sacrifice to the Winds

This is a fire ritual and it is real. It is your moment to drop weight you have been carrying all year, fear, anxiety, pain, shame, old stories, old attachments. You will speak it aloud and throw it into the fire so it becomes smoke and ash.

This is the ritual where Myrenthia becomes power.

What you can bring:

  • A letter you write to what you are releasing
  • A symbol item that represents what you are done carrying (something safe and flammable)

Actions to take:

  • Write your release statement in one clear sentence
  • Decide what you will say before you throw it in
  • Make it simple, strong, and final

7. Coordinate your plans for The Human Auction

The Human Auction is playful, bold, and wildly fun, but it works best when people come prepared. Decide ahead of time what you may offer if you step onto the block and what you might bid if you choose to buy. Checkin with your partners and make sure it remains enjoyable for all involved.

No money. Only barter. Only imagination.

If you may auction yourself:

  • Write your offering clearly on your card
  • Make it something you can deliver in 45 minutes
  • Make it desirable, tempting, and creative

Examples of offerings:

  • A private dance
  • A guided rope scene
  • A foot wash ritual
  • A whispered story performance
  • A service hour (being someone’s “royal attendant”)
  • Something more playfull

If you plan on bidding for another:
Bring things that make people laugh, gasp, or immediately say “sold.”

Ideas for barter:

  • A bottle of special wine
  • A handmade gift or jewelry
  • A private service (massage, cooking, photography, custom craft)
  • A performance

Actions to take:

  • Coordinate with your partner(s) so you’re not surprised
  • Bring two to five barter items (some small, one big)
  • Plan your bidding strategy, because this gets competitive fast

But most of all, bring your suspension of disbelief. Myrenthia’s magic does not belong to the cautious or the half committed. It works best on those who are willing to step fully out of the waking world and into the myth, to let the lantern light change them, to let the music guide them, to let their chosen character take the wheel for a while. The more you allow yourself to live inside Myrenthia, the more Myrenthia begins to feel real, not as a set or a theme, but as an actual place that exists for a weekend beyond ordinary time. Come ready to play, to believe, to become. Because the ones who surrender to the story do not just attend Myrenthia. They are claimed by it.
